This is place to share my passion for crafts but also share the joys of my life.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00586299288843553561noreply@blogger.comBlogger12125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5193819737076505915.post-89985179796491524912015-02-12T17:49:00.000-08:002015-02-12T17:52:08.531-08:00Life is Slowing Down Well life has been a little nuts lately. I received a promotion at one of my jobs last month. That required 3 weeks of training which was totally fine with me. But with those 3 weeks we ended up 4 snow storms that made driving an additional 30 minutes than when going to my store. But with snow the traveling turned into an hour or more each way. So now I am done with training and can try to get my self back onto a schedule. <br />
<br />
I have manage to do a little bit of crafting last month :) I always love when I can fit some crafting time in now I need to do that a little more often.<br />
<br />
So my first project I want to share with you is my pillow graphghan. For those of you who don't know what a graphghan is let me explain. A graphgahn is a afghan that is crocheted by using a chart just like ones that cross stitcher's use. So I started on something small for my son. I thought it would be really easy but it was actually a little over whelming. So here is my Pikachu pillow that I made with Red Heart yarn in a single crochet (sc).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AKCb_sJAc6k/VN1ELt7KwUI/AAAAAAAAAX8/Ekle-c1S8_A/s1600/Pikachu%2BPillow%2BTop%2B1%2Bjpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AKCb_sJAc6k/VN1ELt7KwUI/AAAAAAAAAX8/Ekle-c1S8_A/s1600/Pikachu%2BPillow%2BTop%2B1%2Bjpg.jpg" height="261" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is not perfect but I am not as intimidated by the graphghan's any more. I learned a lot with this attempt and look forward to learning more maybe even try it in a different stitch. Now to figure out how I am doing the back of this pillow.<br />

I bought a book I am sooooo happy to use, it is called <a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/125001333X/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=40105520047&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17270049953876292014&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_42c08buanh_b" target="_blank">100 Snowflakes to Crochet</a> by Caitlin Sainio. Winter is one of my favorite seasons and one of our color schemes is blue and sliver with snowman so what else to add to it than snowflakes? I have made two snowflakes so far YAY!!!!!! The first one is #26 Auvergnasse. I just love the points on it. The second snowflake I made was #8 Flurry<br />

I am missing a thread color so there are some empty spaces but I think it looks pretty good. I have also finished my first of hopefully many ornaments. I love the way it's finished with the mason jar lid it gives it that country type feel to it which my husband is looking for a country themed holiday décor which I would love to be able to t provide some of that by hand making them. The kit is from dimensions called <a href="http://www.createforless.com/Dimensions-Embroidery-Kit-Ornament-Chalkboard-Have-Faith/pid250939.aspx" target="_blank">Chalkboard have Faith</a>. I customized it to our red, green, and gold theme ornaments by substituting the white stitching with DMC Light Effects E3852 Dark Gold. I have Hope and Love left to do I still need to get Joy.</div>

<span style="color: black;"></span><br />
I cannot believe that 2015 is already here. With things being so hectic over the holidays this year I have lost about a weeks time. But I am looking forward to the wonderful things 2015 will have for us. My beautiful cousin with be getting married in a few months along with one of hubby's friends this year too. My son will be graduating elementary school and moving on to middle school. I have no clue where the time has gone when it comes to my son he is already 5 ft tall wearing a men's 8 shoe and soon will be a middle schooler. I wish there was rewind button I can't believe how grown he is getting. But that's part of being a parent right seeing your kids growing up but wishing at the same time that they will stay little forever.<br />
<br />
I know I haven't blogged in months and I am hoping to be able to work on that this year some more so that I am blogging at least on a regular basis. So I would like to share photos with you of all the things I have completed since the last post I did. I know that this is a short post and it could be a whole lot longer but I am running on limited time right now. I look forward to sharing my new year with you all.<br />

Where has the summer gone? I cannot believe that my son will be entering the 5th grade in just a couple of weeks. But he has had a blast with camp all summer. And I am highly jealous of his tan :)<br />
<br />
I haven't gotten much done this past month. I was able to finish up 3 charity square for <span>Charity Cross-Stitching for Sfpsfc & Sick Children in Need which will be my last 3 squares for them as they are closing their doors. They will still be putting together quilts which will take another year or so to finish but once those are done and delivered they will be officially done. I enjoyed my time stitching for them it gave me great pride in what I do. So I will have to find another place to stitch for in time but I think I will be taking a break of charity stitching so that I can get some personal projects done. The first square is for a boy's sports quilt so I stitched Baseball bat & Mitt from <a href="http://www.cyberstitchers.com/">Cyberstitchers</a> , the next square is for Building Blockmen quilt where I was lucky enough to stitch the Blue Musketeer!!!! This chart was donated by a member of the Charity, and the very last square is an Owl I think he came out so cute (and I'm not really an owl person) this chart cam out of Just Cross Stitch's June 2014 Issue.</span><br />

<span>This month I am going to be mainly focusing on my Mermaid SAL (as I am behind) and I am pulling out Echo's of Autumn with hopes of getting a good chunk of it done. I also have 2 charity squares for WOCS to do also. Here are my starting points for Mermaid SAL and Echo's of Autumn:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span></span><br />
<span></span><br />
<span>I have also been secretly working on a blanket for my husband. I am attempting to make a C2C (corner to corner) blanket in NY Giants colors as that is his favorite team. His birthday is in 3 weeks and I am really hopping that I can get it done by then seeing the only time I get to work on it is when he is at work and I am not working. But it would also help if he would stop hurting himself to the point that he gets off of work for a week too lol. Hopefully I will have a picture to share on my next post.</span><br />

So like that title states I have been crocheting left and right for the past month or so. I have made multiple hats for the newest addition to our family. Our nephew RK has many hats coming his way in the future but right now they are just beanies. I got the pattern for these beanies from <a href="http://www.cre8tioncrochet.com/">Cre8tion Crochet</a> (one of my favorite sites to get patterns from). The pattern is called <a href="http://www.cre8tioncrochet.com/2013/08/infant-boys-beanie/">Infant Boys Beanie</a> it is so easy to work up that once you make a couple you don't really need the pattern to remember how to make them.</div>

Besides working on hats I also finished another diaper cover for RK. This is the same pattern as the NY Giants on I posted a couple of months ago. The pattern is called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/football-inspired-diaper-covers-pdf-12-058">Football Inspired Diaper Covers PDF 12-058</a> by Maria Bittner. You should swing by <a href="http://pattern-paradise.com/">Pattern Paradise</a> there are some great patterns for sale and some nice one's offered for free.<br />

I also for the fist time made a towel topper for my harvest towel and crocheted some dish cloths. I don't know why it took me so long to try dishcloths and towel toppers.</div>

This pass month I have been running around like crazy with events every weekend. Looking forward to June as things slow down a bit. I haven't been able to craft as much as I would like because I have been dealing with a lot of emotional things and trying to get out of this rut I have been stuck in. I have made small improvements but I am not 100% there yet but that is okay it's how life goes.<br />
<br />
Monday May 19 I got to welcome my nephew into the world he definitely gave his mother a run for her money lol. He weighted in at 8lbs 7ozs and was 21 inches long. He is so darn cute and I cannot wait to see him with the things I made him. But I can finally share them here because my friend Nic has already see the items (it was so hard not sharing pictures)<br />
<br />
First up is a NY Giants football inspired Diaper cover seeing the Daddy is a huge Giants fan along with my husband who was in the background encouraging me to make this. I got the pattern from <a href="http://pattern-paradise.com/" target="_blank">Pattern Paradise</a> called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/football-inspired-diaper-covers-pdf-12-058" target="_blank">Football Inspired Diaper Covers </a>. It is an easy to follow pattern and you can pretty much customize it to any football team (though she only has the NY and Cowboys star included in the pattern but it's not hard to buy a team logo patch). I am now working on the football field one for them too.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t6TA91vM1fg/U3yhxjrTMrI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/RyjnQYH6u94/s1600/DSCF5191.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t6TA91vM1fg/U3yhxjrTMrI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/RyjnQYH6u94/s1600/DSCF5191.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Back side of NY Giants Diaper Cover</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Font side of NY Giants Diaper cover</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Next up is the monkey blanket. The baby's room theme is animals and sports and Mama didn't want a lot of monkeys but I couldn't pass up this one because I just loved the face and I didn't want just a plan granny square blanket. I got the pattern for the monkey face from <a href="http://tillietulip.blogspot.com/2012/08/monkey-business_19.html" target="_blank">Tillie Tulip</a> which is a free pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also found out this month that the charity group I stitch for will be closing at the end of this year because the women who runs the group and does all the sewing has been dealing with some medical issues. It is sad to see them closing their doors but they did touch so many kids in the 8 years they have been running. I have only been stitching for them for about a year now and I have enjoyed every second of it. So here are some of the squares I have stitched since my last post.</div>

As the month is calming down I have had a chance to look through my stuff and I am trying to de-clutter my life when I found this doll in my stash. I started her a long time ago and she happened to get put away for a while. I started her because my Grandmother made me this doll when I was a little girl which got lost over the years. My grandmother passed away years ago so having her make one isn't an option anymore. So a light bulb went on when I realized "hey you know how to crochet now" so I have plans on finishing her up now so that I can display her and have another loving reminder of my beloved Grandmother.</div>

I am so excited!!!! Last weekend I finished my first <a href="http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/" target="_blank">Heaven and Earth Designs</a> (HAED) chart. I was so giddy when I finished her as it was a long time waiting. The chart is called<a href="http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=604_87_299&products_id=6828" target="_blank"> QS Porthole of Fantasy 1</a> by Jasmine Becket-Griffith. I started stitching her January 1, 2013 and the goal was to get her done in about 7 months but between finishing up school and planning a wedding she was put to the side for a while. So my goal was to finish her by the end of the month. So I put the very last stitch in her on January 19, 2014. I plan on stitching the next chart in the series as the fabric is big enough to have another chart on it. Then I am thinking of some creative ways to make it look like they are being see through a submarine widow. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oHKUKvjYSrA/UubsUY0P8SI/AAAAAAAAAMM/M8D7lCD1qSY/s1600/DSCF5125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oHKUKvjYSrA/UubsUY0P8SI/AAAAAAAAAMM/M8D7lCD1qSY/s1600/DSCF5125.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Along with the big finish this month I also was able finish two more charity squares for <span itemprop="name"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/AuntyJane.at.SFPSFC?ref=br_tf" target="_blank">Charity Cross-Stitching for Sfpsfc & Sick Children in Need</a>. The first pictures is a square for a bug quilt and the second picture is a square of duck for a pond life quilt. Next up on the list for charity squares is another Disney square, football, and emergency vehicle. </span></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This pass weekend I join one of my Facebook groups <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/crossstitchfriends/" target="_blank">Cross Stitch Friends</a> who had a challenge to see if all the members in total can stitch 10,000 stitches from Friday evening thru Sunday evening. Well needless to say the group surpassed the challenge and the count ended up being 61,037 stitches from those who gave counts before she added up. This pass weekend was a star weekend for me I got 2,799 stitches in which I was thrilled to finally have a weekend where all I had to worry about stitching. So I started 2 new projects!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one is called Dolly Mama Cross Stitch Bitch. She will be a charity stitch for a yahoo group that I am apart of called <a href="https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/WOCS/conversations/messages" target="_blank">World of Charity Stitching</a> (WOCS). This group does tons of charity work and they are filled with wonderful caring people and I am grateful to finally be able to start participating in this group.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started stitching this on Sunday January 26, 2014.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rFATTDUWK4A/UubsfC4XS3I/AAAAAAAAAMU/YpOsGD6pYxE/s1600/DSCF5133.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rFATTDUWK4A/UubsfC4XS3I/AAAAAAAAAMU/YpOsGD6pYxE/s1600/DSCF5133.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div align="center">
Also this past weekend I also started Brooke's Books Seasonal Houses. I decided to start with winter as I love snow even if I wish it was so cold. In the<a href="http://www.brookesbooks.com/" target="_blank"> BB Interactive</a> we are doing a SAL of all the seasonal houses. I am loving the way this house is coming out!!! I added a strand of light effects to the snow so it sparkles a little more :) This is a different type of stitching for me as I have never really liked stitching buildings but I just love the way Brooke designed this houses and what I love even more is that the designs are simple enough where you can put your own twist into the design. This week is Halloween SAL ornaments will have to see what I can come up with.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V3_DtUHADCg/UubslYtIXLI/AAAAAAAAAMc/W8Tut2MHlDI/s1600/DSCF5134.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V3_DtUHADCg/UubslYtIXLI/AAAAAAAAAMc/W8Tut2MHlDI/s1600/DSCF5134.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well this coming week I am hoping to work more on a baby blanket that I haven't touched in a few weeks. I also hope to get more charity stitching in.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Stitching</div>

I hope that everyone had a great New Year and that 2014 is going good. So far this year has been going okay. I am still in search of a job with hopes that one comes up so and will help 2014 go smoother than the pass years. Our month has been busy my our son's doctor's appointments. We begin the process of finding out what he is allergic to for his blood test claims he has no allergies but he has all the physical symptoms of having allergies. He is also in the process to being tested of ADD and learning disabilities so that he can receive the proper assistance with his schooling. And we can learn as a family how to help him become the bright kid that is trapped inside.<br />
<br />
This year my goal is to focus on current WIPS and not start too many new projects where my current projects are pushed to the side to where they don't get done. I am hoping that I can also finish up some UFO's that are on my list to eventually be completed.<br />
<br />
I have finished my first charity square for the year and my first finish for the year at the same time. The square is for <span itemprop="name"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/AuntyJane.at.SFPSFC" target="_blank">Charity Cross-Stitching for Sfpsfc & Sick Children in Need</a> which is a Facebook group where ladies stitch squares that are turned into quilts for children who are stick and also to orphanages in other countries. They are always looking for more stitches and if you can't cross stitch they are always looking for cash donations to help with the funds for materials to finish these beautiful quilts.</span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xzufKrAfH9c/UtgJj5pSQJI/AAAAAAAAALc/X70m7M_r8HQ/s1600/DSCF5115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xzufKrAfH9c/UtgJj5pSQJI/AAAAAAAAALc/X70m7M_r8HQ/s1600/DSCF5115.JPG" height="275" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ariel stitched for a little girl who requested a Disney Princess Quilt</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
I also join the 9-day challenge on cross stitch friends Facebook group. We has from December 24th til January 2nd to stitch as much as we possibly could. I worked on my Qs Porthole Fantasy along with the charity square. I was able to finish up a page on the chart. Which I am so excited about because I only have a page left to the pattern which isn't a full page but she is almost completed.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f1tizi4-OhE/UtgJxkfEaZI/AAAAAAAAALs/2j2qVKohskg/s1600/DSCF5112.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f1tizi4-OhE/UtgJxkfEaZI/AAAAAAAAALs/2j2qVKohskg/s1600/DSCF5112.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">QS Porthole Fantasy pages 1-5 completed</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
And here is my progress after the weekend. I am hoping that I will finish up the page this coming weekend.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I hope everyone is have a great 2014 so far and that 2014 is a wonderful year.<br />
<br />
Hugs,<br />

Okay so it has been a while since I have posted anything about stitching or any crafting all together.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been busy working on the charity square for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/AuntyJane.at.SFPSFC" target="_blank">SFPSFC</a> that are due this month and next month here are most of the squares that I have taken pictures of.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have also been busy with some crocheting these past months also with finishing up Christmas presents and birthday present. Then during the month of October and beginning of November I was really focusing on making beanies for the men and women who are serving overseas this holiday season. I mailded 19 hats all together for the men and women. The group that was doing the collection ended up sending 64 all together.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was also busy crocheting other hats for family members. My brother-in-law is a huge fan of Adventure Time which is a cartoon on Cartoon Network. Jake the Dog is his favorite character from that show so I decided to make him a hat for Christmas. I got the pattern from Belle over at <a href="http://imhooked25.blogspot.mx/2013/01/jake-dog-hat.html" target="_blank">I'm Hooked</a> there tons of patterns that she shares. The next picture is of my wonderful Hubby who requested a beanie made out of the camouflage yarn that my parents gifted to me this holiday season (my father has to always find a way to give one of his kids or grandkids camo so this year it was me)</div>

This is an updated picture of QS Porthole of Fantasy by Jasmine Becket-Griffith. I started to stitch her on January 1st of 2013 and I am almost done with her. I am currently stitching on her during the 9 day challenge in the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/crossstitchfriends/" target="_blank">Cross Stitch Friends</a> Facebook group. We started stitching on the 24th of December and we will be stitching until the 2nd of the New Year. I look forward to sharing my stitching progress.<br />

Lately he has been showing his un-appreciation for what he has. I know that every child goes through this stage. I just never realized how difficult it is to deal with this stage. Every time we go out to a store he expects to be getting something (and we never buy him something every time we go out) and every time there is a commercial for the newest thing he wants it. But when it comes to picking up his toys and taking care of what he already as he wants nothing to do with it. He has been working on cleaning his room for a week now (and his father has helped and along with me with parts so that it's not as overwhelming for him) but he doesn't care that he has no floor to play on. We have threatened to throw away toys if he's not going to clean. We have even told him that Christmas will not come unless he starts showing that he can be responsible and take care of what he has. But as I type he is still playing around and not cleaning and there is not that much left to clean up.<br />
<br />
So I have spent the last couple of days reflecting on what has been brewing in my household. And the light bulb has clicked!!!!! What am I providing as a proper example on how my son should appreciate what he has in life???????? I do appreciate what I have but at the same time I don't and I occasionally what the newest thing that's out whether it is electronics or something for my hobbies. I complain how I can't stand the way something I have isn't working properly or how old it is getting (i.e. my laptop)...................................... When we go out shopping there are times when I will get something for me even when I stand there and tell my child how $$$ is tight and we can't get that new toy he wants. There are days when I just don't feel like cleaning and I walk away from the mess. Even in my relationship I have been showing the un-appreciation of what I have just because it's not exactly what I envisioned a relationship to be like.<br />
<br />
So I guess the first place I need to start is working on myself and how I act when it comes to tasks that need to be taken care of. And I need to start showing appreciation for what I have in my life and not complain how I wish I could have something that I cannot afford at the moment. Because if I cannot change these traits in my self how can I expect my 9 year old to change?!?!?!?!?!?!?<br />
<br />
So I am starting my New Years resolution list now and on the top is going to be learning how to appreciate what we have because unfortunately there are people out there in this world who are not fortunate enough to have what we have. I will be looking into organizations that will open up my families eyes to what is going on around us as we live in home where we have food and heat and love........ And I will be blogging about our experience and I believe posting this will help me follow through with it.<br />
<br />

The end of our summer was busy with our wedding and honeymoon (which I will post about later). On returning from our honeymoon the 2013-14 school year started a few days later for our son. And to say the least it has not been a great start to the school year.<br />
<br />
Mr. J was passed onto the 4th grade even though he did not complete the state mandated summer school which is a requirement for children who do not pass the reading evaluations called the DRA..... We decided that we were not going to send Mr. J to summer school because all the educators at the school wanted to do was pass him on the the next grade because he excelled at math...... who cares that he is only reading at a second grade level, or the fact that he can't even spell common words, and doesn't understand the structures of a simple sentence. So countless phone calls, emails, and notes written to the teacher still have not chipped away at the issue. The school doesn't believe he needs to repeat because there is a possibility that he will never catch up to where he will be on grade level...... and they are not interested in giving him a chance to even try........ The principle told me that if they kept every child that was struggling behind they would have students driving themselves to school..... can you imagine how mortified I was hearing that over the phone.<br />
<br />
So it has been determined that I am going to be one of those parents this year that the school and teachers dread dealing with. Because my only concern is my son!!!! Yes I understand that they have many students and there are other children struggling ...... but I will not allow my child to be swept under the rug and passed on because no one wants to deal with it.<br />
<br />
I already has one meeting because there were parts of Mr. J's IEP that were not being implemented...... one's that would have prevented notes being sent home about how he's not paying attention, he can't sit still in his seat, or how he had a rough day (no other details but that). And the excuse is "OH we didn't see those when we glanced over his IEP." And shortly I will be having another meeting about his work load and the demands of it...... because no child should be spending 4+ hrs on 2 worksheets especially when the school already knows that there is a learning disability!!!!<br />
<br />
So because of all this Mr. J is having a really rough time dealing with it all. We have constant melt downs during homework and a huge change in attitude!!!!! The kid that loved soccer now want's nothing to do with it because he doesn't think that he is good enough....... what 8yr old should be saying or even thinking that. He comes home telling me he is stupid and that he can't do anything. We are acting up in school because he is too overwhelmed and doesn't understand. I have no idea what I can do<br />
<br />
<br />
It breaks my heart </3<br />
<br />
I have never told my child that he is not good enough or that he is dumb..... We encourage him to try even when it looks hard because we know he can do it. But because he is so far behind compared to his classmates to the point he is taking notice........ the confidence that was once there is now gone :( We do our best to build that confidence but everyday it seems like what we had strengthen in his mind is beaten back down to where we picked the pieces up.<br />
<br />
<br />
So life has been busy with Mr. J which has put a hault to everything else.... fingers crossed that this whole situation gets fixed and things start smoothing out for him.....<br />
<br />

I cannot believe that we are in July already and I cannot imagine that I will be walking down the aisle in 40 days to marry my best friend. We just recently had our Jack and Jill to celebrate the up and coming wedding. It was a blast!!!! Although I hate being the center of attention...... it wasn't too bad. I just thought of it as trial run of how it will be the day of the wedding.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Me and my soon to be Hubby at our shower</td></tr>

<br />
So besides wedding stuff going on I have also been crafting my little heart away. First I worked on a couple of loveys to send off to Oklahoma for the children that were affected by the tornado that hit. <br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Yellow and Blue Dino Comfort Blanket</td></tr>

<br />
Next were some cards that I had made for a swap in a group that I am apart of. The theme for the first card was coffee/tea time so I found this beautiful pot with a lovely leaf design on it. The next card's theme was the color green so I made a frog card (what else is better to do with a green theme??)<br />

I love making things for charity so I joined this group that makes quilts for children who are sick and for children in orphanages. The next three pictures are made for a little boy who requested a bug quilt. The fourth picture is of Toby from Thomas and friends. Another one of my stitching projects is a HEAD chart called QS Porthole of Fantasy by Jasmine Becket-Griffith. I am part of a SAL for this project which is why I have gotten so far in it. Right now I am finishing up page 5 and will be moving one to page 4. <br />
